An Anglo-Malaysian couple working from our home in New Costessey.
Our varied backgrounds allow us to offer a variety of academic and vocational subjects across all age groups.
Tutoring is on a one-to-one basis with no advance payment required, or penalty for cancelled appointments.
Most importantly, we want our students to enjoy their learning and make progress. When that happens, we all enjoy the experience.

From my own experience teaching in High schools and Grammar schools, and my own daughters schooling, I know how difficult science can seem to young people. Very often, stepping up a grade or two is just a matter of a little quiet coaching and some extra explanation of the concepts.
My experience at school was not what I had expected. My own attitude at school also left much to be desired. Never-the-less, I found the motivation to re-take the exams I failed and go on to succeed at university.
I came to teaching in my forties and have the experience of working in industry. This, I think, gives me a broader view when teaching others. By offering patient and mature science tuition, I can help students gain renewed confidence and get that grade they know they are capable of achieving.

We all have rhythm and music inside us. Expressing ourselves through an instrument just takes practice. With guidance, that practice will be focused and productive.
You can learn contemporary styles, experiencing the skills of leading guitarists by actually playing the songs. Using the techniques that make the playing sound so good in rock, pop and blues, swing, jazz and funk.
It's much easier to write your own music with a little theory knowledge. You'll understand how to play a solo over a chord progression and why the scale you choose creates the mood you've been looking for.
Being able to recognise a chord just by its sound, and knowing which other chords work best with it, makes creativity much more enjoyable.
I've been teaching guitar to young and old for over 16 years. There's always more to learn. I began teaching to share the knowledge others have passed on to me throughout the last 30 years or so. It's much easier to learn if someone actually shows you what's possible.

Driving the band on and tightly linked to the drums, the bass guitar is a great instrument to play. Having a firm grasp of rhythm patterns, a good bass player also understands the chords sounded by other instruments. When there is knowledge of music theory, harmony can be added to the standard root note bass lines. The bass player becomes a virtuoso; expressive and intricate bass lines follow that really give the rhythm section of a band great depth.

At the age of nine, I realised I had a voice. It was because others encouraged and supported my passion, that I was able to develop it.
My first love was musical theatre. At seventeen my singing teacher took me under her wing and trained me in classical styles, including opera. Further experience in rock and pop bands has honed my skills in contemporary music.
Over the last ten years I have helped students find their range and develop their vocal ability beyond what they thought they were capable of. Some have learned for fun, others had a goal in mind; theatre auditions, X Factor or Britain's Got Talent.
Singing is fun, we can express our emotions and create emotions in others. With a little training we can sing the songs we've always loved with real control and feeling.
